100% Cotton. Levi's RED was an avant-garde experimental line launched in 1999 to deconstruct and reinvent the classic five-pocket jean for a new generation. Led by designer Rikke Korff, the collection served as a "pure laboratory" that reinterpreted archival garments with radical, ergonomic 3D forms, featuring skewed side seams, sculpted hems, and an "anti-fit" designed for movement. Distinguished by premium materials like narrow-width Japanese green selvedge and sustainable cottonized hemp blends, the line utilized unique details such as hidden rivets, white brass hardware, and oversized red-stitched box patches instead of traditional leather labels. Originally released in limited quantities through select global boutiques, RED challenged conventional denim construction to bridge the gap between vintage workwear and high fashion, establishing itself as a highly collectible artifact of design innovation

Important note for buying vintage jeans online
Please be aware that sizes and fits vary greatly from brand to brand, and decade to decade. Vintage Levi's jeans specifically were measured in a different way than how we measure jeans now, which results in the general rule of sizing up two sizes when buying vintage jeans. Vintage size 28 for example, will fit like a modern 26. But this isn't always the case!
